Leyla Urmanova, a student from Ardrey Kell High School, is the co-founder of the NeuroElevation chapter in Charlotte. Her passion for STEM was sparked when she discovered the fields of medicine and neuroscience. Since then, she has taken numerous online courses on the subjects and shadowed medical professionals in a virtual setting. With NeuroElevation, she hopes to raise awareness of mental health and neurological disorders through hosting podcasts, interactive events, and fundraisers! Apart from co-leading the local chapter, one of the main projects she is currently involved in, is securing nonprofits and student participants for the #IAmCS & STEM Summit of 2022. Her career goals include finishing medical school and pursuing neurosurgery. With that being said, she hopes that you will chase after your own dreams and enjoy all the opportunities that NE has to offer!

Shivali Changela, a student from Ardrey Kell High School, is the Technology director of the NeuroElevation chapter in Charlotte. As time has progressed she has developed a passion for STEM and has engaged in many related activities. She had indulged herself into various different technology platforms and coding languages. While working with NeuroElevation, she hopes to use her interest in technology to spread the word digitally and raise awareness of mental health and neurological disorders. She works in order to develop and maintain our website, create posts and maintain our linktree. Aside from this her leisure activities include painting, dance and taekwondo. She also loves voluntary work, on a weekly basis she volunteers to teach young kids math. She strives to reach her goals, in the future Shivali would like to do something that involves using her passion for STEM! 

​Meghan Leonard, a student from Ardrey Kell High School, is the co-founder of the NeuroElevation chapter in Charlotte. Starting in elementary school, her love for STEM has only grown more and more over the years, and she loves discovering the new career paths that have sprouted up, including neuroscience. Fascinated by the human brain and experiences, she hopes to share this passion and knowledge with those are also interested in the field. By working in the chapter, her goal is to destigmatize mental health and work towards a more understanding community. In addition to neuroscience, she takes a keen interest in preserving the envrionment, working with AquaConscious and other student-led organizations to help promote the cause. Along with her many other commitments, she also enjoys playing the violin, doing MMA, and reading as hobbies. Her ultimate dream is to pursue a degree in a STEM related career and travel the world for research opportunities!

Krutika is a high schooler that currently goes to Ardrey Kell High School. She loves playing music and plays the Bassoon in the Ardrey Kell Band Program and is a part of the AK Mighty Knight Marching Band. She also plays the guitar outside of school. She loves animals and volunteers with the Carolina Raptor Center and loves to educate others about various topics. She is the Writing Director for NeuroElevation and leads the writing committee and does the writing behind  the podcast and the blog posts for the NeuroElevation Website. She is very passionate about psychology and mental health and is excited to work with many people with helping more people understand mental health!

Vivaana is currently a freshman at Ardrey Kell High School. She is passionate about Medicine and is keenly looking forward to pursuing research in the field of Neuroscience. She is a member in her school’s HOSA chapter as well as Club Med. Apart from her academic pursuits, she loves to read, play badminton and write articles for AK Chronicle (the school newspaper). She enjoys to sing too and is working towards earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Hindustani Classical Music. Vivaana is the Marketing Director for the NeuroElevation chapter at Charlotte, which is a student led initiative that strives to fundraise, educate and promote mental health. The organization arranges summits and various conferences with numerous experts on important issues pertaining to neurology, as well as raising awareness through various forms of social media.

Abigail Demelo, a student at Ardrey Kell High School, is the secretary for NeuroElevation Charlotte. As secretary, she keeps track of all service hours, records key information discussed during meetings, and updates information regarding meetings, dates/times, and attendance. After taking an AP Psychology course at school, Abby learned that she is passionate about learning about the human brain and its functions, as well as the science of psychology in general. Her favorite subject is science, specifically chemistry, and hopes to pursue a career in the field of STEM in the future. In her free time, she likes to read, play the piano, and play tennis. She also enjoys running and is on Ardrey Kell's Track and Field Team. Overall, she is excited to be on the admin team for the chapter and hopes you'll join them on their mission to educate others and raise awareness on cognitive science and mental health.
